Explore with Me
Explore with me is a great way to introduce you child to the amazing world of art, while being right by their side. In this class you are your child will explore the elements of art- such as colors, shapes, and textures in many different media. The lessons are all process- based so that the child is able to explore art freely without a “right or wrong” way of creating. Each class will have a story or activity to go along with the art project, keeping them engaged for this 30 minute class. This class is held 4 times a month on Tuesdays from 10:30-11:00a for ages 2 to 5 years old. $40 per session
Teen Studio
This studio is open to students in 9th through 12th grade. Each student will select their own project and can be assisted by the studio host as needed. As a student- led studio time, these artists are encouraged to delve deeper into their artistic interests and chosen media. Teen studio is held in conjunction with the middle school class Fridays from 4:15-5:30p. $40 per session plus $5-$20 supply fee.
Pre K
This class is designed to show your child many different styles and media in art.All while exploring the elements of art such as color, form, shape, texture and more through fun and experimental projects. These lessons are designed to be open ended, so that your budding artist can develop their creativity. The age range for this class is 3 to 5 years old and runs for 45 minutes, four times a month on Fridays from 12:00- 12:45p, $60 a session.
Lower El
This is a great age for children to begin building their art skills. In this class your child will develop their art making skills through a wide range of media, such as watercolor, pastels, clay, printmaking and more. At the beginning of each class, the techniques and media for the project will be introduced. Then the students will use that knowledge in combination with their own ideas to create unique and individual pieces of art. The age range for this class is kindergarten through 2nd grade. The class runs for 45 minutes, four times a month on Tuesdays from 3:15-4:00p or Fridays from 1:30- 2:15p, $60 a session.
Upper El
In this class, students will build on their knowledge of art techniques and media with more in depth projects. Skills such as shading, layering, and perspective will be applied. As with all classes at Le Petit Atelier, the students' creativity is of the utmost importance and will be encouraged throughout the art making process.The age range for this class is 3rd through 6th grade and runs for one hour. The class is held 4 times a month on Tuesdays from 4:15-5:15 or Fridays from 2:45-3:45p, $70 per session.
Middle School
In this class, students will use media based projects to deepen their art knowledge and skill. In depth lessons on media such as printmaking, painting, drawing and sculpture will be taught at the beginning of each session, then students will use this knowledge to create an art project of their own design. Students unsure of how to start their project will be given examples and ideas to get their creative juices flowing. As with all classes at Le Petit Atelier, the students' creativity is of the utmost importance and will be encouraged throughout the art making process.The age range for this class is 6th through 8th grade and runs for one hour. The class is held 4 times a month on Fridays from 4:15- 5:15p, $70 per session.
